Production flow
Check the target before expanding the factory
The achievement measures Gold you hold, not every pixel ever produced. Research purchases remove Gold from Collectors. Compare the current available balance with the target before deciding that another production stage is necessary.
Test the storage separately from Gold production. A visible pile beside a Collector is not proof that all of it contributes to your balance.
- Check that Gold reaches Collector tiles.
- Account for research spending while you accumulate the target.
- Leave a visible buffer at the storage inlet so a full tank does not block every producer.
Choose solid or Liquid Gold storage
Both forms count when stored in Collectors. Liquid Gold is useful when space or moving solid Gold becomes the limiting factor, but it adds a Smelter and liquid transport to maintain.
The official Gold reference estimates 62,500 fully filled Collector tiles for solid Gold or 31,250 for Liquid Gold. These are full-storage estimates, not tested vault Blueprints: empty pockets, uncovered corners and transfer space need additional allowance.
| Form | Value per pixel | Full Collector tiles for 1M | Extra stage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 1 Gold | 62,500 | Solid collection |
| Liquid Gold | 2 Gold | 31,250 | Smelting and liquid transport |
Check Collector coverage and the receiving route
Collectors can be distributed around the factory. An irregular underground cavern can leave Gold outside the counted tiles; check the occupied shape rather than the apparent size of the room.
Before connecting a large feed, deliver a small amount and confirm that the balance rises. If it does not, inspect the exact material and where it settles. If it rises briefly and then stops, inspect the inlet and available receiving space.
Smelt without burying the liquid outlet
A continuous solid feed can leave a deep pile above the liquid output. Start with a small batch, keep the Smelter supplied and watch Liquid Gold leave for the Collectors before opening the full feed.
If the output cannot clear, reduce or stop solid input, clear the receiving route and restart gradually. A larger stockpile above the machine does not prove higher useful production. Pumps, Pipes and Liquid Vents can move Liquid Gold; do not infer the same behavior for Lava.
Find out why the balance grows slowly
Observe the factory under steady input without purchases or a fresh manual material dump. Record the balance at the start and end and the elapsed minutes, then inspect any stage that accumulates material. Divide the balance increase by those minutes to measure your factory's net gain per minute, not a universal machine speed.
Divide the Gold still needed by a positive, stable net gain per minute to estimate the minutes remaining. Recalculate if mining, Water, power or storage changes. If the source runs dry, the estimate no longer applies.
- No incoming Sand: check supply before adding processors.
- Burnt Residue piles up: isolate and reduce the Press feed.
- Gold piles up before storage: inspect sorting, smelting and the inlet.
- Balance falls: check spending before diagnosing a broken Collector.
Check an achievement that has not unlocked
First confirm the currently held balance and Collector coverage. Then check the game's achievement state and record the build, active mods and this save's mod history if the goal remains incomplete.
Players report achievement problems after using mods, but the available evidence does not establish one universal rule for every mod or save. Preserve the save and report the case rather than relying on an unverified achievement-enabling workaround. There is also no single confirmed performance fix for every million-Gold factory.
Common questions
Does producing a million Gold over time unlock Heliodyne Tycoon?
The documented target is a million held in Collectors at once. Spending reduces that balance.
Does smelting double my money?
No. Two Gold pixels become approximately one Liquid Gold pixel of the same total value. It saves space.
How many hours does it take?
There is no verified universal time. Estimate from your own stable net balance gain and recheck when supply or storage changes.
Should I build a larger vault before fixing production?
Check whether the current vault is actually full. A blocked inlet or machine output needs a transport fix, not just more empty space.
